Day 26 & 27 JasperĀ Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th May 2015
Two days in a log cabin at the Fairmont Jasper. Delicious, decadent, delightful.
Wednesday and Thursday taken as laydays. While it felt a tad indulgent. All this travel is hard work – rest is needed. If I wanted further justification a cold sees me wanting to lie about sniffing and moaning.
So we have read, blogged, worked, emailed, talked, walked, slept, sat in the sun outside our ‘log cabin’.
Did we mention our cabin is the one Bing Crosby used to stay in.
Instant porridge for brekky. Crackers, cheese and tomato for lunch. We have barely left our cabin and its lovely outlook.
Wednesday at 5.30pm we finally set off for a walk. Two rows in front of us – towards the lake paying more – are Bruce and Judith whom we met yesterday. Called in their on our way to walk the lake and left only to change for dinner!
Thursday we did walk the 3.5km around the lake. Not a skerrick of wildlife to be seen despite a warning of wolves roaming. Lake green-blue with mountains behind. Past the golf course where a group were teeing off over the lake.
Chris is finally becoming an honorary Kiwi- took one look at the laundry prices and took up washing in the bathtub.
Ate at the range of restaurants at the lodge. Though on trying to get into the Sushi place we were told bookings were necessary on trying to book were told they were booked out till the following Tuesday!!!!!
